The East Angel Foundation supports East High School through programs that enhance student success, empower educators, provide scholarships, preserve historic facilities, and celebrate the school's rich heritage.
In 2025-26 the Foundation approved 35 faculty and staff grants totaling $74,077, reaching over 5,000 East Angels across academic, artistic, and extracurricular programs. Here is each program, what the Foundation funds, and one concrete example of that funding at work.

Arts & Performing Arts
Sheet music and a new piano for Instrumental Music, framing for the Visual Arts permanent gallery in East's halls, guest artists for Theater, Dance, Choir, and Visual Arts, and new stage lighting in the Auditorium.

Student Support
The Student Assistance Fund covers class fees, books, learning materials, leadership opportunities, and AP test fees. The East Angel Pantry provides nutritious food to students and their families.

The Student Assistance Fund covers class and participation fees, books and classroom learning materials, leadership opportunities, and AP test fees. The East Angel Pantry provides free meal packs, fresh produce, and toiletries.
Impact in practice
The Pantry, founded in 2010 by EHS parent Margaret Berzins, has delivered over 5,000 meal packs (averaging 400 per year) and served more than 2,000 families. 32.5% of East's student body — 805 of 2,476 students — are financially disadvantaged.

Student Scholarships
Awards to graduating seniors based on financial need, academic performance, character, and community and extracurricular involvement, including the Cleworth LEAP Scholarship.
What the Foundation funds
Dedicated scholarships and $2,000–$4,000 grants to graduating seniors for any post-secondary education, including two- and four-year colleges, technical schools, and vocational training.
Impact in practice
Since the program's revival, EAF has awarded $1,005,000 to 484 graduating seniors. In 2025, Cora Smith — Head of Lighting for East's theatre productions — received the Class of 1967, 1968, and 1969 Scholarship.
