We fill the gap, and we seek to connect.
The Foundation raises funds through generous gifts from parents and alumni, grants, and community support to fill the financial gap faced by East High School.
East High School has a rich heritage of distinguished alumni. Our goals are to connect the vibrant community of East Angel alumni, facilitate their vital participation in East activities and enhance their overall engagement with the school.
Supporting outreach to alumni allows the East community to continually benefit from the skills and experience of our alumni base. East High School continues to make a major difference in the lives of alumni and students, and we are dedicated to preserving and enhancing loyalty to this great institution.
The East Angel Foundation exists to preserve and promote East High School’s past, present, and future. Our mission is to:
- Support East High School’s students and faculty through grants, scholarships, and direct assistance programs.
- Preserve the historic campus and its architectural and cultural significance.
- Engage alumni to foster lifelong connections with East, helping them contribute to the success of future generations.

Every date below is drawn from the Foundation's own program pages. Where the source site published no dated record, none is shown.
- 1926
The East High School Alumni Scholarship Fund is established by the classes of 1923–1926.
- 1995
The scholarship fund is revived, and the East Alumni Scholarship is established, funded by donations from generous East alumni.
- 2010
EHS parent Margaret Berzins founds the East Angel Pantry so students have access to meals over the weekend.
- 2011
The East Angel Foundation expands and takes over management of the scholarship program, now overseen by a volunteer Scholarship Committee.
- 2016
Monty Cleworth (Class of 1978) establishes the Cleworth LEAP Scholarship, which has since awarded over $1 million to 13 students.
- 2025
East High School celebrates 150 years, and the Foundation approves 35 faculty and staff grants totaling $74,077 for the 2025-26 school year.
Our relationship to East High School
The East Angel Foundation is an independent, registered 501(c)3 organization (Tax ID #32-0069773). It is not a department of East High School or Denver Public Schools. Instead, the Foundation raises and stewards private dollars from alumni, parents, and the Denver community, then directs them to needs the school’s own budget cannot cover.
That work runs through East’s own people: teachers apply for faculty and staff grants each fall, the school’s counseling office and Student Assistance Fund connect students to help, a volunteer Scholarship Committee that includes East teachers selects each year’s recipients, and the Foundation coordinates with the school on preserving the historic building. The Foundation’s board includes the School Principal.
Currently 32.5% of East’s student body — 805 of 2,476 students — are financially disadvantaged, and 344 students (14%) have physical or health conditions that may significantly impact their ability to learn. Those numbers are why the Foundation exists.

Greg Graeber
President
A proud alumnus of East High School (Class of 1985) and Northwestern University ('89 and '99). His son, Sebastian, graduated in 2021, and his daughter, Sophia, is a sophomore in the Class of 2027. Greg runs an investment company in Cherry Creek and is passionate about ensuring that East High School continues its longstanding tradition of excellence.

Pam Morin
Treasurer
Pam brings over 30 years of expertise in accounting, financial governance, and business strategy. As the founder of her CPA firm, she provides bookkeeping and tax services. Previously, she served as Controller at Filsinger Energy Partners and was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley, managing financial reporting and business integrations. Pam began her career at Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P. in public accounting.
